The Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation

The Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation was incorporated as a non-profit in Massachusetts in May of 2015. The purpose of the Foundation is to organize, promote and manage The Wellesley Thanksgiving Day Run/Walk. Our goal is to engage the community in the event and to support local charities in the areas of cancer, medical research, education and community service.

Metastatic Breast Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Begg's Lab at Children's Hospital are annual charity partners.

Board Members

Carol Chaoui

Founder of Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation Inc.

Carol passed away on Aug. 3, 2020 at the age of 56 from metastatic breast cancer. Carol made a positive difference in many people’s lives. While fighting hard against cancer herself, Chaoui spearheaded numerous efforts to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to support cancer research and important local causes.

Kate Maul

Director of Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation, Inc.; Race Director of the Wellesley Turkey Trot; BA Psychology and Philosophy, Hobart & William Smith; MA Marketing Communications from Emerson College.

Kate has over 15 years of race director experience and 25 years of marketing experience. Kate is a competitive runner and fundraises for Children's Hospital. She lives in Wellesley with her family.

Terri Tsagaris

Director of Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation, Inc.; BS, University of Utah; JD, Northeastern University Law School.

Terri Tsagaris has been a resident of the Town of Wellesley for 18 years. She is the former president of the Schofield PTO, Wellesley Middle School PTO, and the Wellesley Education Foundation. She has been actively involved in local government for 17 years, serving as a Selectman for six years and Town Meeting Member for the past ten years. She was a litigation attorney at the firm formerly known as Bingham McCutchen and subsequently served as Senior Counsel in the Enforcement Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Terri has completed seven Boston Marathons, several half marathons and recently participated in a 200-mile relay on Cape Cod.
